INTERMEDIATE, ALL HARPS + 2 INSTRUMENTS    Fifteen tunes for harp and two other instruments. All instruments have separate pull-out parts.

Joyce Weaver has done a lovely job of arranging 15 tunes for harp and two other instruments. All instruments have separate pull-out parts. Treble, bass and Bb transposing. INTERMEDIATE, ALL HARPS.

There are endless ways this music can be used:

harp/flute/cello

harp/clarinet/flute

harp/cello/clarinet are just a few examples.

Any arrangement for harp and two other instrument arrangements can also be played by harp and only one other instrument, using the flute parts.  The two flute lines are printed on one part for each piece where the melody moves from one part to the other.  The melody is marked with two asterisks in each part where it is found.

In the flute/oboe, and violin parts where there are two note chords, and in the second parts to some of the pieces, the lower notes are preferred when possible.

Dynamics in the two flute parts reflect the fact that flute is softer in its lower range.  When one flute plays with another instrument, it is not necessary for the top octave to be quite as soft.

Oh Holy Night has either two parts with the harp or three parts with the harp.  The harp part is the same for both.

In Carol Medley 2, Bring a Torch  –  it is best to damp the harp on the eighth rests of MM 82-84 and 97.

Skater’s Waltz has a clarinet part that is the melody.  Do not use flute with clarinet on this piece.  All other clarinet parts are the second part, not the melody.

Included are two arrangements without harp, giving the harpist a chance to rest at long gigs.

Table of Contents:

I Wonder as I Wander, What Child is This, Away in the Manger, Silent Night, O Holy Night (2 versions: harp with 2 and harp with 3), Angels We Have Heard, Carol Medley 1 (Good Christian Men, Lullay Thou Little Tiny Child, O Come Little Children),  Carol Medely 2  (He is Born, Unto Us a Boy is Born, Bring a Torch), Skater’s Waltz, Jingle Bells, Deck the Hall and Joy to the World.  The last two selections have no harp part.

Harp part is intermediate with some accidentals, no lever and pedal changes marked. All can be adapted for lever harp.  Skater’s Waltz may be a bit of a challenge, requires full range fully levered harp or pedal harp.
