Greetings fellow musicians and fans of Domenico Scarlatti. This piece is one of seven Scarlatti sonatas for harpsichord arranged by Dan Reiter for a trio of flute, harp, and cello.
Sonata K208 is one of the best-loved Scarlatti sonatas. It opens with a tender and elegant theme that sets the tone for the entire piece. It includes delicate, ornamented passages that require finesse and sensitivity from the performers and features a blend of lyrical melodies and intricate decorations, creating a rich and nuanced musical tapestry. The harp repeats are not written out to allow the harpist to improvise variations on the repeats.
