A delightful collection of Renaissance tunes from England, France, Germany and Italy. Included are dance tunes from John Playford’s English Dancing Master as well as Elizabethan love songs from well known English composers such as John Dowland, the royal lutenist, and King Henry VIII of England. Short biographies of each composer are included. Many pieces are suitable for the garden wedding. The easy to play arrangements are for the intermediate level player. About half of the pieces are written in the key of G, most of the others are in F while three are in C and one is in E flat. Most pieces are written without key changes. However, pedal and lever harp markings appear in the few pieces that change key and fingerings are contained throughout. 35 pieces, 82 pages, spiral bound. Also available as a PDF download. Those who enjoy this book will also love the companion volume, Renaissance Songes of the Merrie Jester, which is devoted to many of the same composers.
