Driving 16th notes with accents in the RH harp, LH whole notes depict making a road through the desert.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I’m making a road through the desert.”
Cello (or viola) mimic the harp part on occasion, as does the flute.
This is a meditative thinking piece with spiritual qualities.
